Here are our anticipated announcements from the Sony Press Conference at GamesCom 2009 in order of likelyhood

1 - PS3 Slim

  • "Faked" images
  • Too many rumours
  • Sony keeping quiet and not denying anything
  • Retailers allegedly being told they're not getting anymore 80gb normal PS3s

2 - New PS3 has backward compatibility

  • Not really any hard fact or even feasible rumours about this one, We Just Want It !

3 - LittleBigPlanet 2

  • Promises of BIG LittleBigPlanet news today
  • It has been rumoured for a while now
  • It's been about a year since the first one

4 - New exclusive game trailers and demos on PSN

  • PSN is being brought down at the time of the conference
  • EyePet being advertised more and more so maybe something about that
  • ModNation may also get some attention
  • Could be something to do with the PS Home Presentation Area

5 - AppStore OR Video Store for Non-US

  • We know an App Store similar to the iTunes one is coming to PSP Go
  • Sony has confirmed that the Video Store is coming to other countries at some point

6 - New Big PSP or PS3 games announced

  • PSP needs new games
  • Some new exclusives or big selling titles coming to PS3 would boost sales over Xmas

7 - Software Backward Compatibility

  • A way to play PS2 games without having an old PS3 60Gb would be fantastic
  • PS2 Game downloads on PSN would be a big-seller
  • Multi-Region functionality would be the icing on the cake

8 - Sony Reward Program

  • For a while now Sony has been mentioning rewarding it's loyal consumers
  • Would help Sony's other departments too

9 - PSP 2 Announced - WITH 2nd ANALOG STICK !

  • I know, I know, We're hoping!

10 - Playstation HOME - FINALLY comes out of BETA and it actually worth using!

  • Now we're dreaming ...

[UPDATE] - Let's See How We Did...

  • Well we were right about the obvious one, the PS3 Slim (and ugly)
  • There was some new trailers on PSN - and EyePet was included
  • The VideoStore for Non-US release date was announced

And ... that's about it, not too good really, but we were hoping for a bit much methinks ... Backward Compatibility ... maybe not ...
